I know it has been a long time and you all miss me a lot, don't you?
What have I been doing this hot summer? Well, I work, I read, then work some more, read some more, drink some beer, hug some trees, go out for some food, go out for beer, bike, work some more, read a few articles, go out with Hannah, take her out for dinner, but most of all, I stay in the library. I am sure I have spent more time in the library than at home. Of course, this is a nice place to stay: air conditioning, high speed Internet, cold water, nice chairs, good printers, electronic staplers. Oh, yes! they have books in here!
By the way, it was Gilda's birthday, and many others: Tia Claudinha, Tiza, Carol, Pedrinho, Ju, Tia Ana Paula, Tio Alex, Dad. I think it was Lili's and Rogério's, too. It was father's day, lunch at my parents, lunch at Tiza's, Tricia's second wedding which I also missed. I bet there are others getting married, people being born... See? Life is going on and I am not even there. Hey you guys stop doing things! Wait for me!
I am very homesick today. This is why I have decided to share some pictures with you; I wanted to feel closer. They say the eyes are windows to the soul; maybe if you see me I will get really close to your soul. Perhaps this way I can feel the heat of having who I love next to me.

Eu sei que faz muito tempo que não apareço e vocês todos sente saudade de mim, não é verdade?
O que eu tenho feito nesse verão quente? Bem, eu trabalho, leio, então trabalho um pouco mais, leio mais um pouco, tomo algumas cervejas, abraço árvores, saio para comer, saio para tomar cerveja, trabalho mais um pouco, leio alguns artigos, saio com a Hannah e a levo para jantar, mas sobretudo eu fico na biblioteca. Tenho certeza passei mais tempo na biblioteca que em minha casa. Claro, aqui é um bom lugar para ficar: ar condicionado, Internet rápida, água gelada, cadeiras confortáveis, impressoras boas, grampeadores eletrônicos. Ah, sim! eles têm livros aqui!
A propósito, foi aniversário da Gilda e muitos outros: Tia Claudinha, Tiza, Carol, Pedrinho, Ju, Tia Ana Paula, Tio Alex, Papai. Eu acho que da Lili e do Rogério também. Foi dia dos pais, almoço na casa de meus pais, almoço na Tiza, a segunda festa de casamento da Tricia, a qual também perdi. Aposto que há outros casando, gente nascendo... Está vendo? A vida continua e eu não estou presente. Ei vocês, parem de fazer coisas! Esperem por mim!
Hoje estou com muita saudade de casa. Por isso decidi compartilhar algumas fotos com vocês; eu queria sentir-me mais perto. Dizem que os olhos são janelas para a alma; talvez se você me vir ficarei bem perto de sua alma. Possivelmente dessa forma eu poderei sentir o calor de ter quem eu amo perto de mim.

How are you? Long time no see or talk huh? but I always think of you. I LOVE your blog so much that it inspired me to create one too. I hadn't known it would be so easy. I am doing one for the classroom really but there are lots of pictures and info about me too. So check it out. Hannah looks so beautiful and fun and sweet. I have to say that when I read the entry you wrote about the people who were discriminatory toward you I felt sad and a little outraged. It is unfortunate but I knew exactly what you would say. I hope things are much better. I miss you and expect that you must be changing in many ways. I hope that the picture showing you with the Brazilian flag was because you are missing your home and not because you are unhappy in the US. At any rate I also hope that you and your family are well.
